✂️ Superstar Sale · Clipping Business

Fifth Superstar Sale business: get paid per 1,000 views for cutting long-form footage (streams, podcasts, shows) into short-form clips and posting them on TikTok / Instagram Reels / YouTube Shorts / X. Thesis from a Facebook reel shared in #clipping on 2026-10-15 — the reel is login-walled and could not be fetched, so the "clipping business" hook is the claim of record. Same method-factory rule as every rail: the reel is a direction to verify, not the economics of record.

Overview

Idea logged 2026-10-15Unverified — research before build

Source: a Facebook reel shared in #clipping (login-walled; fetch attempts via direct, reader service, and Wayback all failed 2026-10-15 — hook is the claim of record). The model itself is well documented outside the reel: brands and creators run campaigns that pay clippers an advertised rate per 1,000 qualifying views for posting short clips of their content. The mechanism is real and independently verified — but the payout side is where the hype dies: view floors, per-clip caps, platform fees, and campaign budgets sit between the advertised rate and the money, and every platform's monetization program excludes plain clips entirely. Nothing here has been checked against live campaign boards yet.

"Clipping" here means the paid-campaign model (Whop-style content rewards) — not reuploading someone's stream for free views. Unaffiliated reuploads are a copyright strike and a banned business, not a business.

The model (starting points to verify — independent research 2026-10-15, none of it our earned data)

Mechanic. A marketer (streamer, podcaster, brand) posts a bounty: a budget, an advertised $/1K-view rate, a view floor, and often a per-clip cap. Clippers cut and caption clips, post them on their own accounts, and the platform verifies views and pays out minus a fee (~10% on Whop Content Rewards).

NumberWhat independent research showsSource
Advertised rateMost campaigns pay $1–$2 per 1K views; Forbes band "typically $1–$5"; niche matters more than platform (music ≈ $0.35, tech ≈ $6.60 on ClipRadar's live board)doesitpay.org full research · ClipRadar live rates
Payout killersView floors ($0 below ~1K–100K views), per-clip caps (~$100–$600), campaign budget exhaustion (the budget, not the rate, is the ceiling), ~10% clipper feeDareBay benchmark · Digiday explainer
Newcomer realityMedian new-account clip ≈ 1,300 views ≈ $1–$3 before fees; ~half of clips miss a 1K–2K floor entirely; $1K/month at $1/1K needs ~1M qualifying viewsdoesitpay.org
Top tier"Elite clippers" earn $500–$1,500/month retainers + per-view pay (median top earner ≈ 130 approved clips/campaign at ~61K views each)Business Insider, Mar 2026
Platform exclusionYouTube YPP/Shorts ad-sharing excludes low-narration clip compilations even with the creator's permission; TikTok For You feed eligibility excludes unoriginal/reused content (Sept 2026 guidelines). Campaign fees are the only income rail for plain clips.doesitpay.org (quoting platform policies)
The advertised rate is marketing; the payout is (rate × qualifying views) − fee, after the floor and under the cap. Any income claim we ever make must carry all four numbers — this is the same discipline that killed the source video's economics on the faceless rail.

The rail (planned — class procedure)

  1. Verify the model before building. Audit live campaign boards (Whop Content Rewards, Clipping.net, Vyro) directly: rate, floor, cap, budget, fee per campaign. Compute realistic payout math before joining anything. Never the reel's implied numbers.
  2. Pick ONE niche + campaign cluster. One niche per business — a second niche means a new business page, not a second offer here. Niche picked by payout math (tech/finance campaigns advertise highest; music/streamers are crowded and floored at 100K views) before any account work.
  3. Build the clip kit. Campaign-provided footage only. Tooling verified on this machine: ffmpeg 9.0.1 + yt_dlp (yta-venv) for research pulls; vertical assembly, burned-in captions, loudness normalization — the faceless-rail pipeline, repointed at short form.
  4. Staged posting. Our own accounts (created by Mike), small clip batch first, views tracked on the campaign dashboard — nothing scaled until the verification→payout loop closes once end-to-end.
  5. Mike steps (agent cannot do these): platform accounts + 2FA (TikTok/IG/YouTube/X), payout KYC (Whop balance → bank), any age/region gates on the picked campaigns.
  6. Run the loop. Weekly kill/scale review on qualifying views per clip and per-campaign budget burn; scale the winner; when a second niche graduates it gets its own card and page as a new business.

SlotStatusWhat decides it
Niche / campaignTBD — candidates: tech, finance/fintech, podcast, streamerStep 1 board audit: rate × (views above floor), capped, minus fee — exactly one cluster survives
Platform mixTBD — TikTok / IG Reels / Shorts / XCampaign rules per platform; ClipRadar's X average ($9–12) is skewed by a handful of expensive campaigns — not a planning number
AccountsTBD — one quality account vs many small onesQuality route by default; the multi-account "shotgun" approach documented by Digiday is a platform-ToS and spam-flag risk — needs an explicit policy call first
Payout railTBD — Whop / direct creator paymentWhop takes ~10% from the clipper side; direct Discord-server campaigns avoid it but add trust risk — decided with the campaign pick
This page deliberately contains no income projections. The clipping space is saturated with "$10K/month clipper" claims that are the advertised-rate math with the floors, caps, and fees quietly removed — repeating that math would repeat the exact mistake the method factory exists to prevent.
